Presentation

CALIS aims to respond to priority issues by covering research and technology needs in a national and European context.

✔️ The main objectives of CALIS are to respond to:

➡️ 1/ The challenges of healthy, balanced, sustainable, pleasurable, socially and culturally valuable, and accessible food for all

➡️ 2/ The needs for cutting-edge research and technology through its network of components distributed throughout the national territory

➡️ 3/ A European context in terms of research infrastructures in food and human nutrition

➡️ 4/ A national context by federating the scientific and technological skills of its partners to respond to a coherent offer involving food and consumer health

✔️ CALIS R.I. relies on 3 major pillars around the following thematic axes:

▶️ Consumer

▶️ Food

▶️ Health

✔️ CALIS: A Research Infrastructure (I.R.) in interaction with other INRAE Infrastructures:

▶️ The research infrastructures (I.R.) of INRAE are numerous and cover the major priority themes of the Institute, ranging from the environment, soil and forest sciences, to agriculture, nutrition and human health, food and agromaterials science, and bioeconomy. The INRAE I.R.s have national (In-Sylva, ICOS France eLTER RZA, DATA TERRA/PNDB, Métabohub, France Génomique, RARe, PROBE, CALIS) and international (IBISBA, ICOS Europe, eLTER OZCAR, AnaEE, Phenome, LiPh4SAS, Emerg’in, IFB-BioinfOmic) vocations.

▶️ These I.R.s provide added value to the scientific, academic or private communities, by the scientific and technological capacities they federate, offering a cutting-edge and specialized scientific and technical service. The capacities of these numerous I.R.s cover the study of systems of interest on all scales, from the molecule, to the population and ecosystem, up to the biocenosis.

▶️ In particular, the I.R. CALIS is in strong interaction with the I.R.s with national scope PROBE, Métabohub and France Génomique, as well as with the I.R.s with national and international scope IBISBA and IFB-BioinfOmic.
