PLANET

➡️ The PLANET platform, from the acronym "Processing of PLANt products with Emergent Technologies", belongs to the Joint Research Unit (INRAE, Institut Agro Montpellier and the University of Montpellier) Engineering of Agro polymers and Emerging Technologies (UMR IATE), is a technological platform labeled Collective Scientific Infrastructure (ISC) by INRAE since 2018, and linked to the INRAE TRANSFORM department.

➡️ The PLANET platform works on the transformation and valorization of plants. The activities of the platform concern different themes:

• Dry fractionation, separation and sorting of plant material;
• The structuring and hydro-thermal treatment of agro-composites (food and non-food);
• The characterization of granular and continuous media.

➡️ The PLANET platform brings together an original set of instrumented pilot equipment allowing to study and characterize the main unit operations of plant transformation. This approach allows optimizing the use of natural resources (products and by-products, energy) and studying the impact of processes on their functional properties
